VIDEO PRODUCTION

PCC's Multimedia Center now offers professional training in Digital Video Production!


Students begin with an introduction to digital video production with a focus on the fundamentals of project planning, basic camera functions, shooting techniques, lighting principals and audio recording fundamentals. About the Program



The mission of the Portland Community College Multimedia Program is to provide training in a focused skill set, as well as, a broad conceptual overview that enables professionals to effectively apply multimedia in education, entertainment, and marketing in their industry or prepare a professional for transition into the multimedia industry.


The multimedia courses at Portland Community College are designed to provide interested students with an overview of the multimedia industry and the minimal skills required to satisfy the industry's entry level positions. The six course 100 level sequence will provide students with a basic knowledge of multimedia and the opportunity to learn career entry-level skills. For those recently employed in the multimedia industry, the series of courses will allow an employee to better understand the industry and explore and prepare for additional career options.


The advanced (200 level) multimedia courses allow students to concentrate their efforts in specific areas of the profession in order to gain additional skills and knowledge. The areas of specialization include: graphic production, vector animation, digital video editing, authoring, 3D modeling and animation, and writing for multimedia.
